Hamilton Beach 51101BA Blender Review
Now don’t get me wrong, going away on holiday is more often than not an amazing and incredible experience. The chance to escape from everything you normally do and catch some sun, paddle in the sea, and have an awful lot of…fun is something that most people look forward to for months before they go. The only downside to a holiday is the fact that you have to go without your home comforts. No tea, no toast done just the way you like it, and if you are that way inclined, no smoothies because you’ve had to leave your blender behind. The Hamilton Beach 51101BA Personal Blender aims to change that!
Is it really worth me bringing with me on holiday?
For something that is designed to sit in your suitcase and travel the country (and maybe even the world) with you, this blender has an awful lot of features crammed in. With it you can make smoothies, shakes, baby formula, marinades, and salad dressing so it’s a handy tool to have out on the road. It may not have quite as many functions as other more sophisticated blenders, but it does simplicity well. It has a one touch pulse operation, which should ensure fast, easy blending with whatever you use and this is all you want from such a simple blender.
Is it going to be a useful travel tool?
Whilst Hamilton Beach have made this machine compact, it is still big enough to take on most blender related jobs. The dimensions may only be 5.2 x 4.2 x 11.9 inches, and it weighs a paltry 2.2 pounds, but with a 14 ounce blending jar you still have room to make your favourite juices and milkshakes. The blending jar is the perfect size to fit into a car cup holder so even if you have to shoot off to work you’ve still got room for your beverage.
So why should I buy it?
This blender is tiny compared to most others and is perfect for the person who spends a lot of their time travelling. Whilst it is compact, it will still do the job when blending is required, and unless you are looking for a much more heavy duty machine the chances are you will be very happy with this blender. If you wanted to take a look at some of the more heavy duty options available, BlendAway have many reviews ready to be looked at so go to their site to find out more.
Any reasons I shouldn’t buy it?
The only real reason you should be hesitant of buying this blender is its small size which has resulted in its small motor. As it is a compact machine, the motor powering the blades is a lot smaller than those which are in the bigger machines meaning less power when you blend. There have been complaints of the motor burning out if it is overused, but this can be rectified with a more subtle approach to the blending (I.E not continually holding the button down and letting the machine rest!)
